K.U Bar and Brazil together again:)

During the last summer, the many of you remember, Alo Alo samba dance group and many Brazilians cheered the musicians Tuesdays at KU bar.

It was always a meeting place full of smiles and good humor to start the week well. Tomorrow, June 1th, we Will Be Parties of the Brazilians starting this summer and of course Can not you stay out of it.

The band Mulata B, composed by the Brazilians Flavia Torga, Santiago Ferreira, Dudu and Alex Mitchell Ginsburg, please Will Our ears with the sound of samba and lining. Alo Alo Will Be There samba dance to show a bit of samba and animating the night with color and Joy.

So, here is the command, tomorrow at 10 pm, we meet at KU Bar for Our first night of samba this summer.

Latino Festival Urbano

Is coming soon the largest Urban Latino event, the first LATIN FESTIVAL URBANO 2010, which will perform the world-famous names in Latin communities, representing music, dance, DJing and culture.

Carnival of Cultures - Berlin

Every summer, Berlin celebrates its own unique carnival, called the Carnival of Cultures - more than 1,5 million visitors flock to the district of Kreuzberg to celebrate the multicultural spirit of Germany’s capital.

Berlin is home to more than 450,000 people from around the world and proud to be the most international city in Germany. The Carnival of Cultures pays tribute to Berlin’s ethnic diversity and the peaceful coexistence of its different cultures with this fun summer festival.

Carnival of Cultures - What To Expect:

The Berlin Carnival of Cultures is a four-day open-air festival with exotic food and drinks, concerts, performances, and parties.

The colorful highlight of the festivities is the street parade, where more than 4,500 performers in authentic costumes, elaborately decorated floats, and musicians from over 70 different countries dance through the streets of Berlin.

FebioFest with batukatum

Formed by musicians coming form the all sides of the Brazil and led by the percussionist from Rio de Janeiro, Flavinha Torga... BATUKATUM is the first Brazilian band in the Czech republic to mix batucada with regular instruments, the first taste of Carnival and swing in this side of the world.

The Energy is contagious and it's impossible not to dance and not have a fun!

Friday 12 of February, Na Skok Pohybové Studio a kavárna, bring to us once again the nice Sangria Friday, not only with Sangria, but also with workshops, performances and fun:)

This time the Samba Group Alo Alo and Marcio Slam will bring a little bit of Brazilian mood as we are now closer and closer to the Carnival period.

Great Carnaval party coming!
Once again this year the Camoes Institute will make a great carnaval party, last year me and my gruop Alo Alo has been performing there and the atmosphere was amazing.
This year, Batukatum and Flavia Torga will be playing there again and I will make a samba-axé workshop just to make sure you will not back home cold:)

So, February 5th is the big day... the party will be at KC Zahrada from 18:00h

Halloween in Gobi Café

Today I made a joke on facebook writing to my friend that I will go to the Halloween party dressed like an old deaf woman, some famous character on Brazilian Tv. Just after my joke, I remembered that once, some years ago, and I am not telling you how many years ago, I played in the theater an old drunk woman who spoke with ghosts... hehehehhe and for me was so funny and great to do it.

So, for this halloween, maybe I will bring back from the hell the old drunk lady who can speak with ghosts.

Take the chance to invite you all for this party, I spoke with the owner of the bar and he told me that they are preparing a good atmosphere for the night and also some great food and Sangria.

What is going on?

Well well well... Many things are happening right now and that´s why I am not up dating my blog as much as a would like to, I am very busy my dears!

So, here are some dates of the good things coming:

20th of September - Music concert with the Brazilians Nelson Latif and Nelson Godoy. Those artists do not live in Prague and this is an unique opportunity. La Bodeguita del Médio, Kaprova 5, from 6:30pm (Free entrance)

26th of September- Warm Up for Brazil Fest at Gobi Bar, will be actually a meeting evening for a beer and some Brazilians snacks , to meet people and also there you can buy your tickets for brazilFest. Vinohradská 63, from 8:00pm (Free entrance)

28th of September - Samba-Axé classes with Marcio Slam ( I love him hehehhehe) and still some places and you can book you place and see all info at www.sambaonline.cz

Besides Samba

One of the attractions of Brazil fest will be the photo exhibition of the great photographer Schirley Barta, another Brazilian talent who had chosen Prague as her new home.

About the exhibition she says:
"Brazilian music and dance, which portrays we have?
Thinking to be outside the country the answer will probably be "samba".

I offer a different option when shooting choreographer Marcio Slam and his partner Glenna Kézia in smooth movements and sometimes strong, bringing the beauty of dance accentuate in the contraction of muscles by different light sources.

The result of this work, that I had great pleasure in doing, I would like to present now on exhibition which I called "Besides Samba."

K.U Bar August edition:)

For all those people who were wondering about next K.U bar Brazilian evening, here I am to tell you. I have to confess that in the beginning I did not believe that those evenings could work out, because the place is small and is on tuesdays and so on, but the small place became one of the good things, it´s more cozy because we can see and talk with everybody we know and meet new friends, and we have so much fun there, people who keep going knows it, and I want to thank you all, in name of Alo Alo and K.U bar.

So, the Brazilian evening with Alo Alo samba dance group and Brazilian live music, will take place at K.U bar, Rytířská 13, Praha 1, 25th of August from 9 pm.

I am sure that SOON, very soon, Alo Alo and Batukatum will bring you a great news!

Madonna in Prague and Brazilians!

Yesterday, August 13th, I was in Madonna´s concert in Prague, it was amazing! Everybody knows that she has a Brazilian boyfriend, called Jesus Luz, and the concerts she had done this year in Europe, she has been taken always a brazilian flag to the stage, and last night, she took the flag from me. yes, my flag was a little special, what made her look at me and smile always when she pass next to me...I was in the front line, thanks to my 12 hours standing there waiting...anyway, I wrote in my flag PRINCESS LOLA, and Madonna loved, Lola is her daughter!

I was luck to be just next to Jesus, cause Madonna was looking at him all the time and sending kisses... he was next to me all concert, he was friendly and jump to me to take a picture...

At the end of the concert, Madonna back few steps to ask me for the flag... I gave to her and she finished the concert with my Brazilian flag... It was great!

Livin la vida loca!

Ok, as you all should know, salsa is not my thing... and more than that, salsa is not a Brazilian thing, mostly all the Brazilians do not dance or listen salsa even many people around the world believe so. But I have nothing against salsa and I know many of my public also likes salsa and not only samba, so let´s talk today about some salsa party... Livin la vida loca!

So, this event will take place at Klub Lavka, this saturday 8/8/2009 and should start at 10pm, the ladies will have free entrance until midnight.

The DJ Pedro Rodrigues, Abdul 52 and the Mexican guest Alfredin will shake you up..and down...and all around hehehehe

The animation will be hold by Mayimbada from Dominican rep.

And we go on and on and on...

Tomorrow, Tuesday July 21th, is day of Brazilian Party at KU bar with Alo Alo performance and live Brazilian music.

Flavia Torga, Santiago Ferreira, André sah e Dudu Morais will be responsible to bring us the samba warm mood, the charm of the forro and the power of the Axé Music.

Do not be silly and be there with us to have a great evening, and enjoy the summer until it last.
